Powerfuels Brief: H2 as a feedstock for the chemical industry
As part of our ‘Powerfuels Brief’ series, the Global Alliance Powerfuels is hosting a digital event to discuss the transformation of the chemical industry towards the use of green hydrogen and its derivatives as a feedstock, which is crucial for achieving climate neutrality.
Powerfuels Brief: H2 as a feedstock for the chemical industry
Date: Tuesday, August 27, 2024
10:00 am – 11:30 am CET
This event will explore the key obstacles and uncertainties in this transition, focusing on both the substitution of existing grey hydrogen applications and the development of new hydrogen-based applications. It will also examine recent regulatory developments in the EU and Germany.
To this end, the Global Alliance Powerfuels has conducted an analysis of existing modelling studies, and will present results regarding the development of the demand for hydrogen as a feedstock in the chemical industries, and implications of recent regulatory developments (e.g., the RFNBO quota for industrial hydrogen use in the REDIII).
We look forward to an enriching discussion with the following speakers:
- Friederike Altgelt, Team Lead Hydrogen Markets and Regulation & Project Lead Global Alliance Powerfuels, German Energy Agency (dena)
- Dr. Florian Ausfelder, Head of department Energy and Climate, DECHEMA
- Heinrich Nachtsheim, Energy Policy Manager, VCI
Martin Albicker, Team Lead Industry (dena), will moderate the discussion.
