Global Powerfuels Alliance joins industry initiative to call for ambitious FuelEU Maritime Regulation

Being part of the FitFor55 package, the FuelEU Maritime Regulation will be key to support a fast and consequent decarbonisation of the maritime sector. In order to fulfill this promise, the regulation must introduce an ambitious GHG reduction pathway beyond the proposition of the European Parliament as well as a specific subquota for powerfuels – so called RFNBOs – of at least 2%.

Today, and ahead oft technical trilogue starting tomorrow, this message was sent out to the European Commission, European Parliament and Council of the EU in a joint letter with 47 companies and associations alongside the maritime value chain.
